Idaho River Kids is a not-for-profit organization, based in Eagle, Idaho, whose mission is to provide young people with the opportunity to participate in whitewater paddle sports. Physical and emotional challenges are presented which foster self-esteem and physical fitness. Children meet new friends and are exposed to adult mentors, who encourage the development of personal responsibility, social cooperation, respect and appreciation for the environment, and a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

The Idaho River Kids sponsors several activities each year, including the "Police Raft-a-Long" event, hosted by Cascade Raft and Kayak Company, in which youths and police officers work as a team rafting the Payette river. Several local pools provide space for our volunteers (many of whom are young club participants) to teach kayaking on a regular basis throughout the year. We often have a junior slalom training program in place for the development of local athletes. Additionally, we provide equipment free of charge to children for our volunteer-staffed kayak lessons on the river, weekly throughout the summer months.
